Traditional Barns - Törbel, VS, Switzerland - Elevated Buildings on Waymarking.com

EN: These well-preserved and still actively used barns are located in the village part Zen Blattu in the west of Törbel.

They consist of a stone foundation, which sometimes contains rooms for tools and the like. The wooden storage part stands on stilts and is additionally secured with a horizontal slate plate against the intrusion of rodents. The roof is usually covered with slates as well.

The lower, southern one of these two barns has a two-tiered stilted construction, over a meter high. This is relatively unusual. The wood of this barn also looks quite a bit older than the other barns, but it is difficult to tell, as wood in this climate darkens after only a few years.

DE: Diese gut erhaltenen und noch aktiv genutzten Scheunen befinden sich im Dorfteil Zen Blattu im Westen von Törbel.

Sie bestehen aus einem Steinfundament, das manchmal auch Räume für Werkzeug und ähnliches enthält. Der hölzerne Speicherteil steht auf Stelzen und ist über diesen zusätzlich mit einer horizontalen Schieferplattte gegen das Eindringen von Nagetieren gesichert. Das Dach ist üblicherweise auch mit Schieferplatten gedeckt.

Die tiefer gelegene, südliche dieser beiden Scheunen hat eine zweistufige Stelzenkonstruktio, die über einen Meter hoch ist. Das ist relativ ungewöhlich. Das Holz dieser Scheune sieht auch einiges älter aus als das der anderen, das ist aber schwer einzuschätzen, da das Holz in diesem Klima schon nach einigen Jahren sehr dunkel wird.
