McGees Mills Covered Bridge - Mahaffey, Pennsylvania - Covered Bridges on Waymarking.com

The McGees Mills Covered Bridge is the last of the bridges that spanned the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The bridge is located north of Mahaffey just off of US Rt 219 on Covered Bridge Road. The sides of the bridge are painted red and the wood trim around the entrances is white. The bridge was built in 1873 for $175 by Thomas McGee. The bridge is a single span Burr Arch truss design and has a span of 109'. The bridge roof collapsed in 1994 under heavy snow and ice and was renovated 1995.

The McGees Mills Covered Bridge has been entered in the list of National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
