"The existence of a church in Quend is known to us by a bull of Pope Clement IV, of June 23, 1266. The current church has kept, to the left of the choir, a flamboyant Gothic style chapel from the 15th century. The bell tower was built between 1742 and 17481. The nave and the choir date from the 18th century.

The chapel on the right, dedicated to the Virgin, was rebuilt in 1880. Under the Ancien Régime, the lords of Retz would have had the right to read in this chapel.

The Church of Quend is built of flint, brick and stone. It is formed by a choir higher than the nave, a transept and a nave. The nave is made of flint and brick. The quadrangular bell tower at the base ends in an octagonal dome surmounted by a lantern which rises to 35 meters high. In 1767, 1826, 1905 ... it served as the trigonometric point of triangulation to establish the map of France.

Two bells are housed in the bell tower:

Louise Olympe, recast in 1834, 1150 kg; Louise Françoise, gift of Louis Manier (mayor from 1835 to 1844) in 1838, 134 kg.

The cemetery once surrounded the church. It was transferred to rue du Domvoie in 1874."

" L'existence d'une église à Quend nous est connue par une bulle du pape Clément IV, du 23 juin 1266. L'église actuelle a gardé, à gauche du chœur, une chapelle de style gothique flamboyant du XVe siècle. Le clocher a été construit entre 1742 et 17481. La nef et le chœur datent du XVIIIe siècle.

La chapelle de droite, dédiée à la Vierge, a été reconstruite en 1880. Sous l'Ancien Régime, les seigneurs de Retz auraient eu droit de litre dans cette chapelle.

L'église de Quend est construite en silex, brique et pierre. Elle est formée d'un chœur plus élevé que la nef, d'un transept et d'une nef. La nef est constituée de silex et de brique. Le clocher quadrangulaire à la base se termine par un dôme octogonal surmonté d'un lanternon qui culmine à 35 mètres de haut. En 1767, 1826, 1905... il a servi de point trigonométrique de triangulation pour établir la carte de France.

Deux cloches sont abritées dans le clocher :

Louise Olympe, refondue en 1834, 1150 kg ; Louise Françoise, don de Louis Manier (maire de 1835 à 1844) en 1838, 134 kg.

Le cimetière entourait autrefois l'église. Il a été transféré rue du Domvoie en 1874. "
