Near the watermill is an old washing place 'de Sprunck'. Sprunck means (water) spring, which means a spontaneous water source. The water is collected in the basin and it has an overflow to the Kwistbeek, where the water mill is located.

" From the Middle Ages, this watering hole was used as a watering place for cattle, which had grazed in herds on the common meadows and floodplains of the river Maas and were driven back to the stable in the evening by the farmer.

From the beginning of the 19th century, this source was given the function of a village washing place, surrounded by the 'bleach' to bleach the laundry. The current building dates from 1870.

The women of the village came with wheelbarrows and baskets full of laundry to this washing place to do the laundry. During the washing, the latest village news and from the area were also exchanged."
