Oversteken over de drukke doorgaande weg de burgemeester Matsersingel is zonder hulp van bijvoorbeeld voetgangersoversteekplaatsen met verkeerslichten te gevaarlijk.
Op één plaats is een voetgangers brug geplaatst om vanuit de Laar West naar Elderveld te kunnen lopen.
Deze brug ligt ter hoogte van het Produs een school voor praktijk onderwijs.
Voetgangers kunnen vanuit de Laar West via een stenen trap naar de brug omhoog lopen.
Naast voetgangers is de brug ook toegankelijk gemaakt voor fietsers. Hiervoor is een talud aangelegd met daarop een (fiets)pad naar de brug.

A pedestrian bridge has been placed in one place to open from the Laar West to Elderveld.
This bridge is located near the Produs, a school for pragmatic education.
Pedestrians can walk up to the bridge from Laar West via a stone staircase.
In addition to pedestrians, the bridge is also accessible to cyclists. A slope has been constructed here with a (bicycle) path to the bridge.
