Abrahams Zapruder took his new film camera to downtown Dallas and Dealey Plaza to watch as John Kennedy passed by in a motorcade. The film that he shot with his new movie camera would shock the nation, and became the definitive imagery of that terrible day.
Abraham Zapruder is buried next to his wife in lot 55 of the Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, just south of the mausoleum and under a small magnolia tree. In this sea of gray flat tombstones, Zapruder’s is the one with several rocks on it, from all of the visitors who come to pay their respects and visit the grave of the man who captured the most famous film of the Kennedy assassination.
Zapruder's film and movie camera remain in the custody of the US National Archives, important artifacts of American history. See more about the Zapruder Film here: (
