Sami njalla which is a small storage building located on top of a tree trunk. This njalla is circa 1x1 meters. The building stores food, especially reindeer meat. A carved tree trunk is placed as a staircase so you can climb up to the building. When the stairs are removed, wild animals such as wolverines cannot get hold of the meat. Both walls, roof and door are made of pieces of wood.
The post on which the house is located is a planed tree with tree roots. This Njalla can be seen in the area by the Sami Cultural Center in Karasjok.
