Taken from Wikipedia, "Port Deposit is a town in Cecil County, Maryland, United States. It is located on the east bank of the Susquehanna River near its discharge into the Chesapeake Bay. The population was 653 at the 2010 census."
Taken from the guidebook, "PORT DEPOSIT, 6. m. (19 alt., 963 pop.), is a town interesting both for its setting and its history. Here the Susquehanna River is flanked by steep cliffs that rise more than 200 feet, and leave space along the shore for little but mile long Main Street and railroad tracks. High Street, somewhat shorter, runs parallel with main Street on the cliffside. In three places where the steep wall to the northeast is broken by hallows, the town has also reached out with a few houses. In spite of its situation, Port Deposit, like most industrial communities is not particular attractive."
