Zwischen Elten und Hüthum in Deutschland wurde 2015 in Grenznähe ein 20 km langer Kreuzweg markiert, den Sie mit dem Rad oder zu Fuß, teilweise grenznah, befahren können. Sie besteht aus 15 Stationen mit Granitsäulen, in denen Bronzetafeln den Kreuzweg des Künstlers Walter Mellman darstellen. Die Geschichte des Kreuzweges wird in zwei Sprachen erzählt. Diese 20 Kilometer lange Straße vom Kreuz führt Sie durch einen wunderschönen Teil dieser Gegend, entlang des Rheins. Der höchste Punkt (buchstäblich und im übertragenen Sinne): der Eltenseberg mit einem wunderschönen Blick über die Rheinlandschaft und die Stadt Kleve
Auch die alte Drususbron liegt auf dem Eltenseberg.
"An Wiesen und Wäldern vorbei, über den Deich am Rhein entlang bis hin zu einer der wenigen Hügel am Niederrhein führt der rund 20 Kilometer lange Kreuzweg zwischen Hüthum und Elten. Er lässt sich etappenweise erwandern oder mit dem Fahrrad erkunden. Dass er eingeweiht wurde, ist einer Idee des damaligen Pfarrers Berthold Heuberg und dem Engagement insbesondere des Heimatvereins Hüthum-Borghees und des Verschönerungsvereins Elten zu verdanken.
Noch vor der Umsetzung der Idee war 2010 Pfarrer Heuberg gestorben. Angelegt wurde der Kreuzweg schließlich im Jahr 2015. Granitstelen markieren die einzelnen Stationen, eine kleine Tafel informiert in deutscher und niederländischer Sprache über die Station.

Between Elten and Huthum in Germany, a 20 km long Way of the Cross was marked in 2015 near the border, which you can cycle or walk, partly close to the border. It consists of 15 stations with granite columns in which bronze plaques depict the Stations of the Cross by artist Walter Mellman. The story of the Way of the Cross is told in two languages. This 20 km road from the Kreuz takes you through a beautiful part of this area, along the Rhine. The highest point (literally and figuratively): the Eltenseberg with a beautiful view over the Rhine landscape and the city of Kleve
The old Drususbron is also on the Eltenseberg.
"The approximately 20-kilometer-long Way of the Cross between Hüthum and Elten leads past meadows and forests, over the dike along the Rhine to one of the few hills on the Lower Rhine. It can be hiked in stages or explored by bike. The fact that it was inaugurated is thanks to an idea by the then pastor Berthold Heuberg and the commitment of the Hüthum-Borghees local history association and the Elten beautification association in particular.
Before the idea was implemented, Pastor Heuberg died in 2010. The Way of the Cross was finally laid out in 2015. Granite steles mark the individual stations, and a small board provides information about the station in German and Dutch.
