[FIN] Samppalinnan mylly rakennettiin vuonna 1860 ja se on tyypiltään mamsellimylly. Erittäin kookas mylly on tullut vuosien mittaan tutuksi monelle kaupunkilaiselle. Ehkä sen vuoksi että myllyn vieressä on suosittu kesäteatteri "Samppalinnan kesäteatteri."

Tuulimyllyn rakennytti 1859-1860 laivuri Juho Antinpoika, joka ajatteli että laivakorppujen valmistaminen olisi tuottoisa bisnes. Eipä ollut ja tuulimylly lopetti toimintansa omistajavaihdosten jälkeen 1900-luvun alussa ja siitä tuli näköalatorni. Tuulimyllyyn lisättiin silloin sen kiertävä näköalatasanne. Nykyään mylly on tyhjillään ja ei käytössä. Alkuperäinen tuulimyllyn rattaat ovat edelleen paikoillaan. Ulkopuolelta tuulimylly on hyvässä kunnossa ja sitä on restauroitu paljonkin.

[EN] The Samppalinna windmill was built in 1860 and is of the "mamselli" mill type. Over the years, the very large mill has become familiar to many city dwellers. Perhaps because next to the mill is the popular summer theater "Samppalinna Summer Theater."

The windmill was built in 1859-1860 by sailor Juho Antinpoika, who thought that making "dried sailor's bread" would be a profitable business. It was not and the windmill ceased operations after the change of ownership in the early 20th century and became an observation tower. A rotating observation deck was then added to the windmill. Today, the mill is empty and not in use. The original windmill stroller is still in place. From the outside, the windmill is in good condition and has been extensively restored.
