The Wonderful Adventures of Nils is a work of fiction by the Swedish writer Selma Lagerlöf. Written in 1906. (Swedish: Nils Holgerssons underbara resa genom Sverige).

In 1902, Selma Lagerløf was given the task of writing a textbook about Sweden, which could be used for teaching in schools. It became to "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils"...
It is about the mischievous boy Niels, who is transformed into a miniature boy. He is so small that he flies over Sweden on the back of a goose. On the trip across Sweden, they visit many places, and over time, Niels learns many things.
In Karlskrona, Niels meets the sculpture Rosenbom. Niels is on the run from another sculpture and hides under Rosenbom's hat.
When the journey is over, Niels has become a wiser boy.

In Karlskrona, Niels meets the sculpture Rosenbom. Niels is on the run from another sculpture and hides under Rosenbom's hat. Gubben Rosenbom (Old man Rosenbom) serves as a money collecting box for the poor. If you flip the hat, you can insert coins in the head of the figure. In his left hand Rosenbom holding a sign with the following text: "I humbly beg you, even if my voice is powerless, come, put a penny in, but first lift up my hat. Blessed are those who take care of the poor." The life-size wooden sculpture is located in front of the Admirality Church in Karlskrona.
