This informative sign is located along the trail crossing the barrier of the wetlands and Lake Crabtree in Cary, North Carolina. This sign points out the features of the wetlands. The script reads:

Wetland Marshes are created when sediment
washing down for Black Creek and other creeks settles
at the lake's edge, creating marshy areas and low islands.

Let's Observe
This habitat provided for lots of life! You may see insects,
tadpoles, and small fish who provide food for larger animals like
raccoons and wading birds. Turtles depend on the environment
to regulate their body temperature so in cooler weather they often
sun themselves on logs or on shore to warm their bodies.

What You Can Do
Wetlands are among the most valuable and sensitive environments.
Stay on the trails so you do not disturb the wildlife that mate, nest, rest,
and feed in the wetland. Erosion and soil compaction from lots of feet
can also kill wetland vegetation.
Visit Instructions:
Take a photo of yourself (and others) at the waymark and feel free to share any additional information or that is not contained on the sign or your experience generally.
