Built in 1927, the Grand River Bridge is the only nine-span bridge of this type in Canada. Also known as the Caledonia Bridge, the bridge is the main crossing in Caledonia for the Grand River.
Maintained by the Government of Ontario, the bridge was originally built as part of Highway 6 which has since been bypassed with a new bridge further upstream. The concrete bow string bridge has been deemed historically significant however is due for replacement as the 700ft long bridge has deteriorated.
Although work has not started as of 2022, the nearby former toll house was bought for preservation through the construction. The new bridge will be built along side the current one and then the old bridge will eventually be torn down and the new bridge shifted into its place.
