Nov. 1919 gegründet. Knapp ein Jahr später folgte die Erweiterung zum „Caritasverband für Stadt und Kreis Neuwied“. Am 19. Nov. 1989 wurde der „Caritasverband für die Region Rhein-Wied-Sieg e.V.“ gebildet, später umbenannt in „Caritasverband Rhein-Wied-Sieg e.V.“, zu dem die beiden Geschäftsstellen Neuwied und Betzdorf gehören.Unser Verband als eingetragener Verein ist zugleich eine Gliederung des Diözesan-verbands Trier (DiCV) bzw. des Deutschen Caritasverbands (DCV) mit Sitz Freiburg.Die Mitgliederversammlung berät über die Grundfragen und legt die Schwerpunkte der Caritasarbeit fest. Aus seiner Mitte werden die Vertreter für den Caritasrat gewählt. Diesem obliegt die Wahl des Vorstandes, die Beratung und Entscheidung über Fragen von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung und über die Aufgaben der Caritas im Bereich des Verbandes, die Beschlussfassung über den Gesamthaushalts- und Stellenplan sowie die Entgegennahme des Tätigkeitsberichtes des Vorstandes."
