She is buried next to her husband, Thaddeus F. "Ted" Bukowski, whom she married in 1951 and who died in 1963. The stone states that Pelagia was a devoted teacher and a loving wife. Her obituary, available online, states that Pelagja (as her name is spelled there) was 101 when she died, being born on January 6, 1906 and dying on March 12, 2007. She worked during her life as a teacher in the Erie School District, having earned a Master's Degree in Education. At some point after she retired, she moved to Arizona to live. She was survived by two sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. May she rest in peace.
