These quotes from the Sacred Scriptures are located at Calvary Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania. The quotes are etched onto a large stone in the shape of a book. There are four of these stone books in the cemetery with various quotes from the Gospels. This one has quotes from the Gospel of Saint Luke, chapter 21, verse 36, and chapter 12, verses 39-40. They say:

Watch, then, praying at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are to be, and to stand before the Son of Man. (21:36)

But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into. You must also be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming. (12:39-40)

Both of these quotes are words of Jesus Christ admonishing his followers to prepare themselves for their deaths, at which time they will stand before Him in judgement.
