Long Description:

Zieht mancher Strom dahin,
Von allen die ich kannte,
Liegt einer mir im Sinn:
O Moselland, o selig Land,
Ihr grünen Berge, o Fluss und Thal,
Ich grüß Euch von Herzen viel tausendmal."

Gewidmet von der Trarbacher Casinogesellschaft und Verehrern des Dichters. Neuwied im Jahre 1899."

[EN] Above the entrance to the house at Pfarrstraße 10 in Neuwied, there is a marble slab with an excerpt from the Mosellied (Moselle Song), poetized by Karl Theodor Reck.

"In 1848, Theodor Reck, a teacher at the local secondary school and later a pastor in Feldkirch, wrote the much-sung Moselle song in this house.

"In the wide German land
Many a river flows by,
Of all those I knew,
One of them is on my mind:
O Moselle land, o blessed land,
O green mountains, O river and valley,
I greet you from my heart many thousand times."

Dedicated by the Trarbach Casino Society and admirers of the poet. Neuwied in 1899."
