Saint Brigid Church is located on the corner of Arch and Liberty Streets in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The parish was established in 1862 for the large number of Irish immigrants in Meadville. Construction on the church building began in 1878 and the church was consecrated on November 24, 1881. The church underwent extensive renovations in 1949. The stained glass windows date from this renovation. The windows depict the joyful and glorious mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
The joyful mysteries are: 1. The Annunciation 2. The Visitation of Mary with Elizabeth 3. The Nativity of Christ 4. The Presentation of Christ in the Temple 5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple.
The glorious mysteries are: 1. The Resurrection of Christ 2. The Ascension of Christ into Heaven 3. The Descent of the Holy Ghost 3. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary 5. The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven.
In 2021, Saint Brigid's was merged with nearby Saint Agatha and Saint Mary of Grace Churches to form a new parish called Epiphany of the Lord Parish. Saint Brigid's currently only has one weekly Mass, on Fridays, and a once-a-month Traditional Latin Mass, which takes place on the last Sunday of the month.
