The congregational church in Simsbury, CT was established in 1697. The two story high wood framed church with a gable roof and a three stage steeple. It was designed by the famous New England architect Isaac Damon in the Greek Revival style in 1830. Over the years the church was renovated and a large complex of buildings was added to the southwest side of the original church.

The façade of the church has a set of step leading up to a projecting three bay set of three rectangular entrances. The bays are separated by four Ionic pilasters beneath a pediment. The second level has three double hung windows each with a fan window on top. On the front of the main block are a rectangular double hung windows on the lower level and a double hung windows with a semi-circular window on top on the second level.

Rising from the apex of the gable roof is a three stage steeple. Each stage is square progressively smaller. The lowest stage is a belfry with rectangular louvered windows. The middle stage has a an oval with a starburst design. The upper stage has a window with a semi-circular window on top with a lattice overlay. The corners of this stage each have a finial tipped with a gold colored sphere.

The sided of the main block are six bays wide. Each bay has a rectangular window on the lower level and a window with a semi-circular window on top on the upper level.
