Long Description:
No longer considered to be endangered but obviously nowhere as plentiful as they were long ago, it's an uncommon treat to see a bison, let alone a herd of them, grazing in a pasture nearby. They're a little more common as you get away from Flower Mound and into rural areas: The drive between Justin and New Fairview to the west offers some good viewing opportunities.

This sign provides a nice photo of a pair of American Bison, standing alert in a meadow. It provides some of its characteristics, noting the confusion as to how we erroneously refer to them as "buffalo", along with a hoof print.
