The Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife has intervened in the walls of the Torre del Adarguero de la Alcazaba, also called Torre Hueca, after detecting hollows and a crack in its walls during maintenance work. This was stated by the general director of the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife, Rocío Díaz, during a visit to the tower, together with the monument's curator architect, Antonio Peral.

The intervention, which has had an execution period of one month, as explained by the General Director of the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife, has allowed the restoration of the deteriorated walls by means of caulking with the same pre-existing material and lime mortar, as well such as the grouting of the brick wounds, in those areas where it has been necessary.

These works have been carried out in phases to make them compatible with the public visit and have been framed within the conservation and restoration actions carried out daily by the workshops of the Granada monument itself, "preventive conservation work", as Rocío Díaz has recalled . Within the planned conservation actions, the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife also acts these days in the Paseo de las Adelfas, in the Generalife area, with the aim of repairing walls and railings.

The Torre del Adarguero is located inside the Alcazaba and forms, together with Torre Quebrada and Torre del Homenaje, its eastern flank. It is, therefore, a defensive system made up of an inner line of the wall with a north-south orientation, defended with three towers that protrude from this stretch of wall, one at each end and another in the center, a guard path or front ditch and another lower wall surrounding it as a barbican.

Currently the tower is hollow due to the intense modifications it has undergone over time, especially when it became the entrance to the Alcazaba in the 16th century, which led to the emptying of its interior.
