The neem tree is a member of the mahogany family and is native to the Indian subcontinent and many African countries. It is highly prized in traditional medicine for its medicinal value. A plaque in front of the neem tree is inscribed:

The seeds were brought from Montserrat in October 1975 by
Dr. Joseph Jackman
Director of Agriculture 1974-1976
Chief Agricultural and Veterinary Officer 1976-1982.
The Neem tree is one of the world's most beneficial
plants and it has been used in Indian medicine
for thousands of years.
The Neem and the Mahogany are in the Meliaceae family.
