Originally, it was an old chapel dedicated to Saint Benedict, rebuilt in the 18th century in the Baroque style. It is located in the Main Plaza, attached to the Tower of Bujaco.

At the entrance, there is a portico with three semi-circular arches on ashlar pillars and covered with brick. The gates of this portico were made by Juan de Acedo in 1756, and contain the monograms, IHS and MAR, the names of Christ and of the Virgin Mary.

Inside the small church is a Baroque reredos presided over by an image of the Virgin with the Infant Jesus in her arms--the work of the sculptor, Pedro Correa.

Recommendations: The interior of the church, which is open to worship, is worth a visit.
