[ENG] In June 2021 a bark of over 100 years old of Canadian poplar broke off on Walczewskiego Pond. Fortunatelly noone was injured but it was clear the tree is a bad shape and it became dangerous. At first the decision was made to cut it down but the city council had an idea to change it into art!
The stable part of the trunk was carved by an artist Andre (Andrzej Zawadzki). A totem pole covered in animal figures, flowers and magical creatures was called "Totem zwierzat" which means "Animal's Totem". The sculpture has 9,2 m (29,5 feets) which make it the tallest sculpture in Poland.

Stalo sie jasne, ze drzewo jest w zlym stanie i zaczelo stanowic niebezpieczenstwo dla spacerowiczów. Poczatkowo podjeto decyzje o jego wycieciu, ale ostatecznie wladze miasta postanowily zamienic je w sztuke!
Stabilna czesc pnia zostala wyrzezbiona przez Andre (Andrzeja Zawadzkiego). Totem pokryty sylwetkami zwierzat, kwiatów i magicznych postaci nosi tytul "Totem Zwierzat". Dzielo ma 9,2 metry wysokosci, co czyni go najwyzsza rzezba w Polsce.
