This insect hotel can be found on the wooded southern slope of the Hill of Maunderlea, three miles to the north of the village of Aberchirder in north-west Aberdeenshire, formerly Banffshire.
The hill is the site of wooden holiday lodges and the Bee & Bee can be found on the western side of the site on the track up to the viewpoint at the top of the hill.
The hotel is an elongated wooden frame with a metal grid containing a diverse array of materials, mostly wood.
