Working in a team to achieve the goal for a new waymark was a fun experience for both of us. In consequence we both created a part of the description for this waymark to show both sides of it's story. We'll hope that this one could be used as a guiding example for the next waymarkers in this category.

Benchmark Blasterz and FamilieFrohne

Benchmark Blasterz' part in the adventure

The Benchmark Blasterz were very happy to help the FamilieFrohne with their Where’s In A Name? waymark by making the long, arduous, multi-hazardous, expensive, uphill-both-ways-in-the-snow trip to — the parking lot at 7308 Alma Drive in Plano, TX, which served both Hoblitzelle Park and a behavioral health services center.

We bravely drove on not one, not two, not three, but FOUR separate highways filled with giant speeding Texas-sized pickup trucks to get there from our home far far far far far away in Garland Texas — but no one should worry because we had plenty of cold Diet Cokes and nutritious survival snacks to get us safely through our 18 mile journey.

Well, really it was more like a 120 mile trip because it was Mother’s Day, and Mama Blaster wanted Adventure and Exploration with caching and waymarking on her day.

So we added several adventures: we saw wild zebras on a ranch in Westminster, ate Korean Army Stew for lunch at Maet Gaek, shopped for needful fun things at the Daiso, re-stocked depleted Chinese pantry staples at the 99 Ranch Market, AND made 2 stops at Buc-ee’s (an adventure in itself). After grabbing the FF’s coordinates, we finished up the day with cold craft beers and carry-out Tacos de Trompo.

It was most excellent fun and productive day - thanks FF for being part of the adventure!!

FamilieFrohne's part in the adventure

Reading a thread in the forums concerning the "Where's In A Name?" category Erik did also the needed calculation for the conversion of the name: FAMILIEFROHNE translated to 3264543376463 which resulted after setting the points and blanks and wrapping around the minutes to the coordinate pair (33° 04.543, 38° 04.630). Using these values to get a full coordinate and playing around with the orientation (i.e. swapping north with south and east with west) lead for the N/E case to a place in a desert near the Syria / Jordan border. Looking at the map it seemed not very likely to find a geocacher or a waymarker in this region. And for the other three cases the waypoint was right in the Atlantic and Indian ocean. But using the northern part only would give a line crossing the United States touching South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

So Erik answered to the topic, told about his needs and got an offer from Benchmark Blasterz, who promised to visit a place at the given north coordinate since it was not so far away from their hometown Garland. And nearly three weeks later - right on Mother's Day - we got a message that the Blasterz visited a matching spot. It turned out to be a parking lot along Alma Drive near the Hoblitzelle Park in Plano, Texas. Hurray! So thanks again for doing us this favor and for the pictures.

Who took the photo of your converted name?: Benchmark Blasterz

Visit Instructions:
A photograph is required of your GPS receiver clearly showing the coordinates and the place.

A photo showing the area would be a great addition to the waymark gallery.
