This welcome sign is located on Rte 9 entering the town of Warrensburg, New York from the south side. The town is designated "Home of Floyd Bennett, Aviation Pioneer." In the 1920's Bennett became a skilled pilot with missions to the Greenland, the Arctic Circle, Europe, and the South Pole, among other places. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
