The green-painted QF-25 (Quick Firing field gun with a 25 pound shell projectile) was commonly used by Britain and Australia in the Second World War. While Australia did make some, they were mostly with a shorter barrel, better for off-road maneuvers. It is 87.6mm calibre. With a drop-down circular foot-plate, and ability to elevate quickly (even from -5° up to 45°), it remained the primary ordnance into the 1960's. It weighs about 1.6 tonne and is 4.6m long, with a barrel 2.47m long. It could fire at up to 8 rounds per minute, and fire the shell up to 12km. [Some info from Wikipedia:

A lacquered bronze plaque on the front of the protective shield reads:

* Because of the light rain that had fallen, it is hard to read the serial number on the barrel jacket. *
