Saint Paul Cathedral, the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, is located on Fifth Avenue in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Construction on the present Saint Paul Cathedral, the second cathedral of that name in Pittsburgh, was begun in 1903. The cornerstone was laid on September 6, 1903, and the church was completed in 1906. It was designed by the architecture firm of Egan and Prindeville of Chicago, and built by Thomas Reilly, a Philadelphia contractor. The church was designed in the Decorated Gothic style, and its twin spires rise nearly 250 feet.
