The First Congregational Church of Truro, built in 1827, is the oldest surviving church in the Town of Truro, and was the third meetinghouse constructed to serve such purposes. This Federal/Greek Revival building is in very good condition, and still retains its original revere bell in its bell tower. With the exception of some interior changes that were made in 1845, the steeple being repaired in 1952 after being struck by lightening, and some restoration work from 1955-57, very few changes have been made to the original fabric of the building.
