The observation blind is a great place to look for eagles, osprey, and migrating waterfowl in the spring and fall."

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website, the park is named for Maurice K. Goddard, a former Secretary of the Bureau of Forests and Waters for Pennsylvania from 1955-1979. During his tenure, Goddard helped establish 45 state parks in Pennsylvania.
