"Cáceres has a dozen and a half beautiful modernist architecture buildings, some of which have gradually fallen into disrepair by their owners while others have been recently rehabilitated.
There were many more, who fell years ago under the pickaxe of urban speculation.
Several of those that remain are the result of the work of the architects Francisco Calvo Traspadarne and Angel Pérez Rodríguez. Others are due to the design of various architects. Perhaps the most emblematic, due to how isolated it has become, is the “Chalé de los Málaga”, designed by the architect Miguel López Murena.
Francisco Calvo was born in Logrosán and studied in Madrid. He landed in Cáceres around 1920 as an official of the Cadastre. He spent his entire working life in Cáceres until his retirement in 1962. He never married and had his permanent address at the Hotel Jamec, on calle Pintores. He left Cáceres three years after retiring and died at the end of that same decade.
Some of the buildings he designed were those at Avda. de España 5, Plaza de la Concepción 4 and Plaza del Duque 6.
For his part, Ángel Pérez Rodríguez was of La Rioja origin and settled in Cáceres in 1926 as a municipal architect, a position he held until his retirement in 1967. His other architecture has been and is still very present in Cáceres in truly emblematic buildings, such as the Casa de la Chicuela (corner of San Antón and Cánovas), that of the churches, just on the opposite corner, the Casa de los Picos (Avda. de España), the Vocational Training School (Gómez Becerra), the Casa Mountain Exercises and many others."

En: "This house, considered an architectural jewel of Cáceres of the 20th century

This house, considered an architectural jewel of Cáceres of the 20th century, is located at number 3, Avenida de España, and was designed by the architect, Ángel Pérez.

Its name comes from the first owner and developer in the year 1927.

The building has three floors, an attic, and a turret jutting out from the corner; however, we must note that the house is actually made up of two homes. It stands out for its eclectic façade with Neo- Plateresque references and beautiful artisan details.

Recommendations: It is very close to the Canovas and Calvo Sotelo parks, and is easily identified since the building belongs to BBVA bank, with offices in the lower part."
