The Village Congregational Church was built in 1838 in the Federal style designed by architect Jacob Gardner. The church was dedicated on September 11, 1839. Additions were added in 1896 and 1897. The clock was installed in 1904.

The façade of the church is three bays wide. A set of steps leads up to a pair of entrances flanking a tall, three part central window with green shutters. A four tier steeple rises above the apex of the gable roof. The base of the steeple is a short square tower. Above the tower is a belfry with louvered windows. Next is a clock tower and a tapered octagonal spire topped by a weather vane. The sides of the building are three bays wide with windows that match the window on the front at each bay.
