The NDB is a simple lattice mast, supported by 6 guy-wires, along with a small equipment building. It's located in a secure, fenced lot bounded by Fifth Street on the west, Ocean Avenue on the north, the Sidney International Ferry Terminal on the east, and Tulista Park on the south.
The NDB transmits on a frequency of 200 KHz with the identifier YJ, and is operated by Nav Canada, the corporation that owns and operates Canada's civil air navigation system.
