Jane Fortescue Seymour was born in 1825 at Newport, Isle of Wight, England. She was the daughter of Reverend George Turner Seymour and Marianne Billingsley. She married John Duke Coleridge, 1st Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary, son of Rt. Hon. Sir John Taylor Coleridge and Mary Buchanan, on 11 August 1846. She died on 6 February 1878.
From 11 August 1846, her married name became Coleridge. After her marriage, Jane Fortescue Seymour was styled as Baroness Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary on 10 January 1874.
