When you think of the Reeuwijkse Plassen, you think of sailing and surfing pleasure. But these lakes in South Holland, located between Gouda and Reeuwijk, have a lot more to offer. For example, they are a paradise for birds. In winter and summer they settle there in large numbers. It is not without reason that a large part of this area has been designated a Natura 2000 area.
From the Prinsendijk you can admire the traditional Dutch polder country with its richness of plants and animals. You walk between the puddles on narrow roads and around the water you experience the old polder land with its wood quays, reed beds, dikes and farm roads. It can't get more Dutch!
