Rubye's obituary from the Norman Transcript: (visit link)

Our precious mother, mother-in-law, Granny, and aunt has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although she tried to make it to her 103rd birthday, God called her home.
Granny was born west of Edmond on the family farm on what is now MacArthur to Dora Langford Barber and Leman Barber. She was the youngest of 12 children.
Although unusual for a young woman, Rubye graduated from Central State Teachers College in 1933 with a BA in teaching with a major in history. She married Charles (Chap) McDaniel in 1935. She taught school until the birth of her second son when she chose to stay home and raise her two boys. A few years later a daughter was born into the family.
Her long life consisted of being a farmer's wife with all that entailed. She cooked, canned, quilted, gardened, and made their clothes, fed the chickens and cattle. And as a faithful servant, she served as church secretary for over 50 years at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene as well as missionary president.
Chap went home to heaven in 2006 but Granny is survived by her two sons and her daughter: Bob McDaniel (Rose Marie), Bill McDaniel (Kyle Lynn) and Linda Johnson (Ken), eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She will be missed by her loving family, her many friends and the staff at Tealridge Assisted Living and Epworth at Home Hospice. But in our grief comes rejoicing for her great reward. Thank You, Jesus, for such a faithful, loving servant.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday May 16, at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene with interment at Gracelawn Cemetery. Viewing will be Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.
