[FIN] Vanhalinna on kuuluisa turistikohde Liedossa lähellä Turun kaupunkia. Sen korkea vuori nimeltään Linnavuori on ollut aikoinaan merkittävä linnoituspaikka. Sieltä on vielä nykyäänkin hyvät näköalat moneen suuntaan ja vuoren huipulta voi seurata vaikka läheisen Aurajoen liikennettä.
Tässä kyltissä kerrotaan historiaa Linnavuoresta. Ensimmäisiä merkkejä siellä sijainneesta puurakenteisesta linnasta on jo 500-luvulta. Mutta vasta 1000-luvulla vuorelle tuli pysyvämpi linnoitus. Sen merkitys väheni nopeasti maankohoamisen vuoksi. Turkuun rakennettiin toinen suurempi linna ja jo 1200-luvulla tämän Linnavuoren merkitys oli vähentynyt.
Kyltissä on myös tietoa kasvillisuudesta vuoren rinteillä. Muutama vanhempi kasvi on uhattuna kadota, koska maanviljelyä tai kotieläinten kasvatusta ei alueella ole enää samalla tavalla kuin ennen.
[EN] Vanhalinna is a famous tourist destination in Lieto, near the city of Turku. Its high mountain called Linnavuori was once a significant fortress. Even today, there are good views in many directions and from the top of the mountain you can watch the traffic of the nearby Aurajoki.
This sign tells the history of Linnavuori. The first signs of the wooden castle located there date back to the 6th century. But it wasn't until the 11th century that the mountain became a more permanent fortress. Its importance quickly decreased due to land uplift. Another bigger castle was built in Turku and already in the 13th century the importance of this Linnavuori had decreased.
The sign also has information about the vegetation on the slopes of the mountain. A few older plants are in danger of disappearing, because farming or raising livestock in the area is no longer the same as before.
