"Árbol de gran porte, de hojas persistentes o semipersistentes, lineares caedizas, desprendiéndose adheridas a las ramitas, que están dispuestas en dos planos. Con piñas ovoideas de 12-15 mm de longitud. Este ejemplar está ramificado casi desde la base en numerosas y gruesas ramas ascendentes, que le dan forma de candelabro. Alcanza una altura de 25 metros con un diámetro de copa de 24 metros y un perímetro en su tronco de 5,50 metros. Se le ha calculado una edad aproximada de 360 años."

El Ayuntamiento de Madrid tiene un Plan Director del Arbolado de los Jardines del Buen Retiro que incluye este árbol.

"Large-sized tree, with persistent or semi-persistent leaves, linear deciduous, detaching attached to the twigs, which are arranged in two planes. With ovoid cones 12-15 mm long. This specimen is branched almost from the base into numerous and thick ascending branches that give it the shape of a chandelier. It reaches a height of 25 meters with a crown diameter of 24 meters and a trunk perimeter of 5.50 meters. An approximate age of 360 years has been calculated."

The Madrid City Council has a Master Plan for the Trees of the Buen Retiro Gardens that includes this tree.
