The Candler Building was developed for and named after the owner of the Coca-Cola Company Asa Griggs Candler. The 24-story rectangular tower has a five story wing on the west side. The 352' high building was designed Spanish Renaissance style by the architectural firm of Willauer, Shape & Bready. Its flush façade make it one of the last of the non-stepped back skyscrapers in New York City.

The symmetrical 24 story tower of the Candler Building is five bays wide with three two story high arched windows in the middle of the second level and third levels and three sets of double windows topped by arches in the middle of the fourth level. The middle windows are separated by stone piers and end with arched windows near the top of the building. The two windows on the ends of the second level have pediments and balconies. Stone cornices separate the top floors into sections. The last section is slightly smaller that the ones below.

The five story wing to the west is two bays wide. The east bay has an two story high arched window on the second and third levels. Above are double sets of windows. The west bay has rectangular windows.
