The Church of Bourget is considered a local historic site given its architecture and its religious symbol within the community.

In 1876, people from the southern part of Clarence Township asked to create a new parish. This request was approved in 1878 by Bishop Mgr Duhamel of Ottawa. It was not until June 1885 that the people of The Brook village (now Bourget) began to build their chapel, while waiting for the church to be built. The construction of Sacré-Coeur Church began in 1888 with Father Constantineau and was completed in October 1889. The church was built of wood, clad in red brick with a single steeple. Major renovations and major additions; altar, balustrade, pulpit, organ and canopy that now adorn the church, were made thanks to M. l'abbé Raymond and ended in 1921.
