Memorial to Major William Carleill and members of his family in St Giles' church, Great Longstone.
Major Carleill was appointed in 1797, a deputy-lieutenant for the county of Derby, and obtained, in 1803, the command of the South High Peak volunteers, with the rank of major.
The inscription on the monument reads -
