Bozeman was founded in August of 1864 by John Bozeman, a frontiersman from Georgia who led wagon trains west to the gold fields in the Montana Territory along the Bozeman Trail, a cutoff of the Oregon Trail. The town served as a supply hub for prospectors looking to strike it rich near Bannack and Virginia City.

Bozeman became the county seat of Gallatin County in 1867.

The Ten Commandments was placed in 1970 by the Bozeman Aerie #326.
F.O.E. Ten Commandment Monuments were placed in six locations within Montana.

Soroptimist Park is a lovely small park in downtown Bozeman where you can enjoy lunch and watch the passers-by.

Bozeman's Aerie was founded in 1903. The Bozeman Auxiliary was founded in 1942. Bozeman was the 326th aerie formed in the nation and carries that number within their official name. This is one of the few older Aeries which meet in their original Aerie.

I am the Lord your God

The Ten Commandments
I am the Lord thy God
Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
Honor thy father and thy mother
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife,
nor his manservant, nor his maidservant,
nor his cattle, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s
