"In all things of nature, there is something marvelous." - Aristotle

So says the plaque, which is mounted on the tree dedicated to Dr. James Clifford. It is along the western pathway encircling the newer portion of the cemetery at Western Salisbury Church in Allentown, PA.

Most of the dedicated trees here have small plastic signs, but this one is much nicer - made of brass, painted brown with the quote from Aristotle.

Here is something from the obituary of Dr. Clifford, dated May 20 2004:

"Dr. James R. Clifford, 74, of Macungie, died May 19 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Daye) Clifford. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 18th, 2004. Born in Corry, he was a son of the late Clint A. and Elizabeth Mary (Group) Clifford. He was a graduate of Grove City College, class of 1952 and a graduate of Temple University Medical School, class of 1956. He did his internship at the Allentown Hospital and residency at Akron City Hospital. He had a family practice in Emmaus for 40 years before retiring in 1999. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. He was a member of Emmaus Masonic Lodge 792. Dr. Clifford was not a member of this Church, yet his tree is here. The plaque is something new here, as I walk be here often and never saw it before.
