Baroque construction that is located next to a water containment dam from Roman times. It is a single-nave building with five rectangular sections with small altars on both sides, covered with a half-barrel vault with lunettes on lowered transverse arches, whose head is enlarged by the Chapel of the Virgin. The nave and the chapel form two independent areas, separated by a wrought iron grille carried out in 1980.

On the outside it is built in stone and brick masonry, presenting a compact appearance, monumentalized by the two towers, square in plan and three bodies high, which flank the western façade topped by a triangular pediment, which is the result of a reform carried out in It was completed in 1900. The dome, with an octagonal floor plan whose walls were articulated by means of the arrangement of semicircular openings, covers the exterior of the dome of the chapel, being covered by glazed ceramic tiles characteristic of Muel, called tears?. It is finished with a lantern of marked verticality.

The hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Fuente is a baroque work that has a very simple decoration influenced by the classicist baroque introduced by the Basilica del Pilar in Zaragoza; During the last quarter of the 19th century, Muel tiles were installed with floral and cherub motifs; but the most outstanding are the mural paintings that Francisco de Goya carried out on the pendentives of the dome that covers the Chapel of the Virgin.

Conquered by Alfonso I after the capture of Zaragoza in 1118, the hermitage of Virgen de la Fuente stands on the foundations of the old Muslim mosque that protected the Roman-era water containment dam.
There is documentary evidence of the veneration of the Virgen de la Fuente from the end of the 13th century. In 1766 the old Romanesque hermitage was practically destroyed due to a flood and it was necessary to build a new building, completed in 1770, building the Chapel of the Virgin; it is around those dates when Francisco de Goya paints the pendentives of the chapel of the Virgin.
During the War of Independence, the hermitage was badly damaged, which is why it underwent a restoration in 1816. In 1879, the tile decoration was added, and in 1900 the current façade was completed.
