This small headstone and its accompanying plinth are mounted on two sandstone slabs that have shifted a bit. The family name, "Shipman", is on the front, while a rose is complemented by two bits of ivy, and a simple inscription:
Born Mar. 15, 1824;
Died Feb. 3, 1902,
Aged 77 Ys. 10 Ms. 18 Ds.

On the reverse are two bits of ivy, with an epitaph:
We only know
that the same re-
turnless tide,
Which bore thee from
us still glides on,
and we who mourn thee
with it glide.
