This memorial to Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) is along the Greenbelt Trail and is both a memorial and a garden. It is a great place to take a break and reflect on his body of work and where we are today or to just enjoy the garden.
About the Memorial: The main piece is a 6 foot obelisk at the end of a walkway that splits an arch shaped space in half. Along the walkway are stones with each of MLK's famous marches, sit-ins, or speeches that have a row of plants jutting out of them creating an arc. When viewed from afar during peak bloom season it could be seen as a rainbow.
The nearby kiosk has the text from his "I Have a Dream" speech and describes each event related to the stones along the main path.
