[ES] “Ignacio murió asesinado el mediodía del sábado 7 de septiembre de 1996, mientras hacía su compra habitual en una pequeña tienda de alimentación, situada a unos cien metros de su monumento. Dos atracadores armados quieren el dinero de la caja, lo consiguen tras amenazar seriamente a la joven dependienta. Ignacio, por ser una de esas personas que no toleran el abuso, la barbarie y el matonismo, intervino en auxilio de la cajera. Le dispararon dos tiros mortales.
El monumento es sencillo, pero llamativo por su originalidad. A todo el mundo llama la atención. Los vecinos del barrio conocen por qué está ahí y qué representa. Muchos de los conductores en sus coches, los que van en taxi o en autobús, lo atisban durante unos instantes, pero ignoran de qué se trata y no tendrán ocasión de averiguarlo.”
