Located in one of Australia's most historic church sites, the Hoop Pine is one of many which were grown to be a marker of homesteads or major buildings such as churches.
Next to this Hoop Pine is a slightly shorter tree of unknown species.
The church is probably Australia's oldest Catholic Church. For many years it was in poor condition as was the graveyard but it is now in good condition.
The tree and church are important in the history of Australia.
