"On this site were located until the Revolution the remains of an old chapel of a Benedictine priory dependent on the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel.

The latter was however mentioned in ruins. Its materials were used around 1802 for the construction of a Chappe telegraph on the Paris-Brest line.

In 1854, the telegraph was removed and the parish rector, Father Demiriac, leveled the tower and transformed it into a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Hope. It was consecrated on October 13, 1857. Altars linked to the cult of Mithras were found in this place."

" A cet emplacement se situait jusqu´à la Révolution des vestiges d´une ancienne chapelle d´un prieuré bénédictin dépendant de l´abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel.

Cette dernière était toutefois mentionnée en ruines. Ses matériaux sont utilisés vers 1802 pour la construction d´un télégraphe Chappe de la ligne Paris-Brest.

En 1854, le télégraphe est supprimé et le recteur de la paroisse, l´abbé Demiriac, arase la tour et la transforme en chapelle dédiée à Notre-Dame de l´Espérance. Celle-ci est consacrée le 13 octobre 1857. Des autels liés au culte de Mithra auraient été trouvés en ce lieu."
